phantom 4 se
If you want a drone for shooting 4K videos on a budget, the Phantom 3 SE was built just for you.
It doesn’t have any obstacle avoidance, or any cool follow-me modes, but if you just want to get that 4K shot, you probably don’t need any of those things.
Like all of the other Phantom 3 models, the Phantom 3 SE will provide you all of the essential drone functions like GPS and vision stabilization, auto return-to-home (RTH), 720p live feed, over 20 minutes of flight time, and an easy-to-use app for adjusting every drone and camera setting you can think of. Aside from the 4K, there’s one other thing that really sets the Phantom 3 SE apart from the Phantom 3 Standard and other budget drones.
The big standout-feature here is the 2.5 mile range. That’s more than twice the range of the X-Star Premium Drone! If you’re familiar with the Phantom 3 Pro, then you might be wondering what the Phantom 3 SE is missing. After all, the one drone has the word “Pro” in the name. The truth is, there isn’t much of a difference between them. The Phantom 3 Pro was an older drone made before the Phantom 4 came out. The Phantom 3 SE is the same drone, however it uses a different radio technology and comes with a more simple controller that is cheaper to produce.
Here’s why you might want to get the Phantom 3 SE over the DJI Spark.
To be honest, when I first saw the Phantom 3 SE, I thought that the DJI Spark would be a much better choice, and for a lot of people it is, but that’s not the full story. Yes the Spark is only $499, but if you want to fly farther and longer, you need to get the Fly More combo which brings the price up to $699. Even then, you still won’t get 2.5 mile range, the longer flight time or 4K.
So yes, the Phantom 3 SE is not the newest drone on the block, but it can still compete with a lot of today’s drones—even come out on top for some people.
